My Journey Through the Storm

Early on in life, I discovered that healing isn’t always a straight line. Even as a child, I struggled with eczema, asthma, and allergies. Looking back, those were the signals my body was already sending, searching for a balance it couldn’t find. That search only intensified years later when I received the diagnosis of N.M.O.S.D.

N.M.O.S.D. (Neuromyelitis Optica) is a rare and serious autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks its own nerves, particularly the optic nerves and the spinal cord. As if that storm weren’t enough, I was also diagnosed with a meningioma (a benign brain tumor). It was a lot. A whole lot.

When I was diagnosed with NMOSD and later a meningioma, I felt like my body had declared war on itself. But I soon discovered that while our diagnoses might be rare, the language our body speaks is universal. It’s the language of inflammation, the immune system, and the gut.
